Business Day in its recent article is covering Optasia’s next phase of growth — and the numbers tell the story.
Optasia’s Group CEO Salvador Anglada discussed with Business Day on how microfinance now makes up about 70% of group revenue. Anglada said that he expects microfinance and related credit services to eventually account for 80-85% of the business. As he put it, “the reason for that is not because those services [airtime credit] aren’t growing, but because the others are growing very fast.” The piece also highlights new products like utility-bill advances and merchant credit, plus our continued expansion into markets like Ethiopia, Egypt, Gabon, and South Sudan. Great to see our momentum recognized in the press!
